Bookings

In light of COVID 19 restrictions easing around the country I just wanted to update you all with what's happening with Survive courses at the moment.

Unfortunately we’re still very much in the dark and unsure about future courses.

The ARC still recommends that the teaching of routine first aid and resuscitation courses should be postponed until the current COVID-19 pandemic has abated and expert consensus opinion is that there is no longer an unnecessary risk involved in participating in a course. The ARC recommends that the requirement for resuscitation training and re-certification be considered in the light of the current concerns.

Although restrictions are being lifted, social distancing remains in place and it's pretty impossible to run the practical elements of our courses with effective social distancing and appropriate disinfecting/cleaning of all the gear, so at this stage we still don’t have a clear definitive start date.

We are however using the time to move part of our training of the course online which would mean you will be able to start your training soon and then complete the practical assessments when we’re able too.

I will release an update on when the course is able to be started online in the future.

Stay safe during this uncertain time. I hope that you can continue to support us in the future, and we can bounce back.

Cheers

What does this mean if I am booked onto a course?

As this pandemic is changing daily in its effect on our lives in Australia, I really don’t have an exact answer however we have put all future courses on hold. This means as soon as we can we will endeavour to run these courses when it has been deemed safe to do so. We will officially cancel courses if they need to be cancelled 1-2 weeks out from the original start date, until then they are just on hold.

If I am booked onto a Public Course in the next month what does this mean?

I ask you to contact Leah on leah@survivefirstaid.com.au and consider transferring onto the next available course.

Can I get a refund?

Of course, you are entitled to a refund. I do however ask you to consider to please transfer onto a course at a later date when we can hopefully run it to help us during this tough uncertain financial time.

If I am booked onto a course in a few months’ time what does this mean?

At this stage we hope to be running courses again in the not too distant future but as stated we will be looking at the Government and Resus Council Advice. If you are booked onto a course in a few months’ time we ask you to keep your booking at this time. We will officially cancel courses if they need to be cancelled 1-2 weeks out from the original start date, until then they are just on hold. Unfortunately, I can’t be any clearer than this.

What does this mean if my first aid has expired?

This is and should be determined by your various organisations however the ARC have stated “The ARC recommends that the requirement for resuscitation training and re-certification be considered in the light of the current concerns”

When will you be running courses again?

At this stage I just honestly don’t know. We will be directed by the Government advice and the Resus Council’s advice. However, when we do decide to run courses, we hope to be able to be up and running immediately.

Are you still taking future bookings?

Yes, we are, however we just can’t guarantee they will go ahead. As such we will not be taking any money for these bookings. Online public course bookings just reserve you a spot and invoices will be generated but please don’t pay these until your course is confirmed to go ahead.

Private courses will also be sent an invoice but again please don’t pay these until the course is confirmed to go ahead.

When you do start running courses again will you put on more courses to help out everyone that has missed out?

We certainly hope so, and depending when that is, we will try to put on as many courses as soon as we can.

If I have a private course scheduled what does this mean?

I ask you to contact Adam on adam@survivefirstaid.com.au to discuss options in holding your course date in case we can run it when the advice changes or rescheduled the course for a time later in the year.

Will Survive keep going in the future?

Of course, we hope that we can just essentially put Survive on hold and that when it’s safe to do so we can start up again as soon as possible, however it will no doubt have an effect on the staff in the Short to Medium term.
